What is glutathione?

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant produced naturally in the body, primarily in the liver. It plays a crucial role in protecting cells from oxidative stress and damage.

How is glutathione best taken?

Although there are many glutathione products on the market, they are not effectively absorbed when ingested. This leaves two primary methods for supplementing glutathione: taking precursor compounds that our bodies can convert into glutathione or using glutathione supplementation that bypasses the gastrointestinal tract. These methods include:

  • IV supplementation: This method is very expensive.
  • Subcutaneous injections: Injections into the fat on the quads or stomach.
  • Sublingual lozenges: Glutathione rapidly absorbs into the bloodstream by dissolving under the tongue, bypassing the stomach.

We recommend the subcutaneous and sublingual methods as they are reliable, convenient, and affordable ways to supplement glutathione.
